Personalization in campaigns

Addressing a customer by their first name or surname is always the right step towards a better open rate of e-mail campaigns and towards sparking the interest to read the whole content of the e-mail.

Personalized salutations can be created in Quanda through automations and then used in the e-mail editor of individual campaigns.

You insert the personalization into a text field by clicking the spot where you want to place it, and then choosing Personalization in the bottom right of the window that appears above it. As you can see, various details recorded on the contact or on the user can be added, a signature for example. The personalization code is inserted into the text in a format wrapped in two curly brackets on each side, {{...}}.

From the salutations you can choose:

  • the complete salutation including the prefix, that is for example "Dear Sir" for men or "Dear Madam" for women, combined with the surname in the vocative case;
  • the complete salutation including the prefix, that is for example "Hi" or "Hello", combined with the first name in the vocative case;
  • the surname on its own in the vocative case;
  • and the first name on its own in the vocative case.

The salutation itself can be combined with further specific wording. For example, when you know you will send the campaign on a Thursday, you can write "Happy Thursday, {{contact_salutation_first_name_vocative }}" into the text.

You can also insert the salutation into the subject of the e-mail, just copy the personalization code from the text field into the field named E-mail subject above the editor.
