E-mail editor in an A/B testing campaign

Before you start building the e-mails, decide what your A/B testing will focus on. Whether it is increasing the open rate of the e-mails or increasing their conversion, that is increasing the number of clicks on the links placed in the e-mail.

Start by building the "A" version of the e-mail first. When building the e-mail, proceed the same way as when building an e-mail in a simple e-mail campaign. Once you are happy with the e-mail, click the "Save and create version B" button below the e-mail.

Make the relevant changes in version "B". If you are aiming at increasing the open rate, leave the content unchanged and only change the subject and the headline of the e-mail.

If you are aiming at increasing the conversion of the e-mail, change the number, the colour or the text of the buttons or links. Do not make too many changes at once, though. That way you make it easier to identify what exactly caused the different results.

In this example we will show how to proceed if you are aiming at increasing the open rate of the e-mails. After creating version "A", we created version "B" by copying it. In version "B" we only change the subject of the e-mail. We leave everything else unchanged.

We check both versions with the e-mail preview and if everything is fine, we continue to the "Sending" page.
