The size of an image is given by the width of the e-mail and the margin settings of the "Image" object. You set the width of the e-mail with the "cog" icon in the right-hand menu on the E-mail editor page. You set the margins in the right-hand menu at the very bottom after clicking the "Image" object.
The default width of an e-mail is 650 px, but the image has margins and the e-mail page can have margins too. Based on these margin settings and the chosen e-mail width, the exact width of the image can be calculated. If all margins were 0 px, the width of the image would be 650 px. The height of the image is calculated automatically in proportion to the width.
An inserted image always adapts to the space it has in the e-mail. So its size can be larger, but we recommend getting as close to a 1:1 size as possible, according to the chosen e-mail width and the margins you set.
If the image is smaller than the space in the e-mail, a small icon for example, you can set the display to 100 % size in the right-hand menu for editing the "Image" object, which shows the image in its original size.
Our tip: we use 730 px for the e-mail width and insert an image 800 px wide into the "Image" object. Once inserted, the image shrinks a little (730 px minus the margins you set).
If you need advice on how to crop an image to a specific size or how to change the overall size of an image online, read the linked articles on our blog.
We recommend that the size of all uploaded images in a campaign is not larger than 2 MB.
