What link branding is
With so called link branding, the "onquanda.com" domain in the links in your e-mails is replaced by your own domain. That strengthens the credibility of the e-mail and improves its deliverability.
How to set link branding up
- For link branding we recommend using a suitable subdomain, for example "mail", "email", "click" or "link".
- With the chosen subdomain, the links in your e-mails take the form "chosen subdomain.yourdomain.com/".
- For the chosen subdomain (for example link.yourcompany.com) you need to generate your own SSL certificate, then set up a redirect in the hosting of that subdomain, in .htaccess in the case of an Apache proxy server, from URLs starting with "https://link.yourcompany.com" to https://link.onquanda.com/, and ideally set up automatic renewal of the certificate.
The target state is that when a link in an e-mail is clicked, for example:
https://link.yourcompany.com/newsletter/817746e333eeed0b08080af0a3c6a87c189c5008d1fd98877b813e8865f16d20/
the service on the server redirects the URL starting with "https://link.yourcompany.com/" to "https://link.onquanda.com/", keeping everything after the "/" at the end.
The link that reaches us then has this form:
https://link.onquanda.com/newsletter/817746e333eeed0b08080af0a3c6a87c189c5008d1fd98877b813e8865f16d20/
