You can use these e-mail campaigns to send birthday or name day wishes regularly and automatically. Your customers will surely appreciate it.
For both of these campaigns to be possible to start, the birthday or name day dates have to be filled in on the contacts. You can also do that with a bulk contact import. You will find more in the article > Export of contacts and preparation for their import.
Quanda lets you store the name day date on contacts through an import, or fill it in through contact automation.
Thanks to contact automation, the name day date is filled in on all contacts that have a first name filled in (in the field named First name).
If you are adding new contacts, the automation for filling in the name day date has to be set to "a new contact was created".
If you already have contacts stored in Quanda and want to fill in or update the name day date through contact automation, the automation has to be set to "an existing contact was edited".
For the automation for editing existing contacts to work, a change has to be made on them in bulk. We achieve that with a bulk export of all contacts and a subsequent import, where only the main e-mail needs to be mapped. The contact is not actually changed, but for the system it is the step that triggers the automations.
If you have a connection with the RAYNET CRM application, for example, it is enough to export all current contacts into Quanda again. That performs a so called edit on them and the automation for filling in the name day date kicks in.
Contact automations are not available in all plans. Please have a look at the pricing page, where you can find which plans contain these automations and to what extent.
The way these campaigns are built is completely identical except for one point, so let us describe it in one go. The single but crucial difference is that the automatic "Birthday wishes" campaign uses the date of birth stored with each contact in the "Date of birth" field to trigger. "Name day wishes" then uses the name day date stored with the contact in the "Name day / anniversary" field to evaluate whether the e-mail should be sent.
How to proceed when creating them
In the upper menu, in the E-mail campaigns section, choose "Create new campaign". Name this type of e-mail campaign in the following window and click the "Create" button in the relevant part, depending on whether it is "Birthday wishes" or "Name day wishes".
On the "Settings" page pay attention to a few fields. The first setting on this page is the language selection. In the "language" field you can choose the language in which all the so called supporting texts of the e-mail are displayed, such as the unsubscribe text, the content of the unsubscribe page or the text about the option to view the e-mail in a browser. If you send an e-mail to German speaking recipients, for example, this setting lets you display all these supporting texts in German.
Using the "Show the campaign to users" field you can also invite other users into this campaign. They will then see this campaign in the e-mail campaign overview in their account after logging in to Quanda.
The "Admin" role sees all created campaigns in their account after logging in to Quanda, regardless of who the campaign manager is. The manager can be changed on this page as well.
The "Project manager" role sees all campaigns they created in the e-mail campaign overview in their account after logging in to Quanda, and also all campaigns they were invited to.
The "Consultant" role only sees the campaigns they were invited to in the e-mail campaign overview in their account after logging in to Quanda. If the "Consultant" role creates a new e-mail campaign, they have to invite themselves into that campaign. If they do not do this, they lose the rights to the campaign they are currently creating once the "Settings" page is saved and will not be able to continue preparing it.
None of these items set on the Settings page can be changed once the birthday or name day e-mail campaign has been started.
If you have everything set up the way you need, continue by clicking the blue "Save and recipients" button.
